The Qur'an repeatedly mentions Reform and Corruption. But we often reduce them to just "good" and "evil". In reality, they are connected to the entire system Allah created, the balance of the universe, and human nature.

Reform does not mean only doing good deeds. It means keeping everything in its right place, for its right purpose, and within its right limits.
Corruption is not limited to crime and injustice. It is any disorder that breaks Allah’s system of truth and balance.

The word Islah comes from Sulh, meaning to maintain moderation and balance. Just as light removes darkness, when truth comes, falsehood vanishes.
About Reform Allah says:
"And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation" [Al-A'raf 7:56]
Allah wants us to preserve the system He has set right.

About Corruption Allah says:
"Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of people have earned" [Ar-Rum 30:41]
When humans deviate from Allah’s system with their desires, corruption spreads.

Allah has established the whole universe upon balance:
"And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance" [Ar-Rahman 55:7]

Reform begins with the self: our thoughts, beliefs, character, worship, dealings, family and responsibilities. Even our education, job, leadership and daily decisions are reform only when they align with Allah’s guidance.

Every believer should ask: Is my life aligned with Allah’s purpose? Are my decisions creating reform or corruption?

In conclusion, reform is a continuous process. Living according to Allah’s system is reform. Disturbing that balance for our desires is corruption.
The real question is: Am I a means of reform, or am I unknowingly spreading corruption?
